The Youth for Human Rights Campaign is aimed at Youth ,and it is designed to assist youth in getting to know, understand and use their basic human rights. The campaign is based the UN Universal Declaration on Human Rights.

Education aides include a booklet and DVD which simply and graphically shows what human rights are in the context of the modern world.

Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) is dedicated to educating young people about their human rights, thus making them valuable advocates for tolerance and peace. With the educational tools developed by YHRI, which include booklets, DVDs, human rights song, and various activities that one can do to promote human rights, raised awareness of what human rights are is becoming a reality.

In this programme an emphasis is placed on human right #29 which is “Responsibility” as an individual’s rights are only guaranteed to the degree that he or she is responsible for the rights of others.

Without this knowledge, young people are susceptable to abuse. The statistics speak loudly with the abuse, rape, murder or violation of children being the subject of newspaper articles daily. Hence the role that Youth for Human Rights International plays in safeguarding these children by first teaching them about their rights and reinforcing what their responsibilities are, makes for a safer, saner future.

“Human Rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream.”
